Bergen: January 5, 2018, at the age 67, after a courageous fight with cancer. Predeceased by his parents, Eugene S. & Mary Pakozdi; brother, Eugene F. Pakozdi. He is survived by his loving wife, Connie (Moranz) Pakozdi; daughter, Jaclyn (Mark) Iwasko; grandchildren, Victoria & Chloe; brother, Jonathan Parker of CA; several nieces, nephews & dear friends.

 For the last seventeen years, Richard worked in the field of neuro-muscular therapy. He owned and operated Advanced Health Therapy Center in Brockport, NY. Richard specialized in Bowen Therapy, which focuses on the central nervous system and he was one of only three specialists practicing Bowen therapy in New York State.

An athlete in his youth, Richard was a golden gloves boxer and played minor league baseball in Florida. He began refereeing in the amateurs, especially in the Rochester, New York area, including golden gloves, Empire State Games and the Aquinas Mission bouts. Richard entered the pro officiating ranks in 1991 and within two years scored the job of third man in the ring for Oscar de la Hoya’s sixth pro bout with Mike Grable. Richard’s visitation will be held 3-7 PM on Friday, January 12th at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane, Rochester, NY.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11AM on Saturday at St. Vincent DePaul Church, 11 N. Main St, enter church parking lot off of Buffalo Rd. Interment in St. Vincent DePaul Cemetery. Donations may be sent to St. Vincent DePaul Church, 11 N. Main St, Churchville NY 14428 in Richard’s memory.
