Obituary of Manfred Haisch

Greece: Decem­ber 31, 2017 at age 95. Manfred is prede­ceased by his parents, Otto & Berta “Oma” Haisch; wife Mary Fer­rari Haisch; infant son Christopher Haisch; sister Charlotte Degel Ferrante; nephew Gerard Ferrari. He is survived by his children, Ken­neth Haisch, Maryel­len (Larry DeForest) Haisch Case & Carol Haisch; grandchildren, Ashley Haisch, Chris­topher Haisch & Nicole Case. Nieces and nephews, Gudrun Kimmel, Dagmar Moran, Rocky & David Pilaroscia, Nancy Pilaroscia-Sigmund, Frank and Cathy Ferrari & Dr. Bernard Ferrari. Several great and great-great nieces and nephews. Several cousins in Germany. Beloved pets including: Max, Mikka, Mia & Maya.

Manfred’s visitation will be Friday, January 5th, 2-4 pm & 6-8:30 pm. His funeral service will be Saturday, January 6th 10 AM at the funeral home, fol­lowed by his burial in Holy Sepulchre Cem­etery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Humane Society at Lollypop Farm, 99 Vic­tor Rd., Fairport, NY 14450 in Manfred’s memory.

Manfred was born in Fellbach-Schmiden, Germany on November 16, 1922. During his youth, he attended vocational school and enjoyed playing organized soccer. Manfred served in WWII in the German Navy. He survived a battle on the English Channel, was captured and became a prisoner of war in Scotland and in Lethbridge, Canada for 5 years. After the war, Manfred worked as a Police Officer in the city of Stuttgart, Germany.

He came to America in 1954. It was here he met Mary Ferrari and the two were married June 7, 1958 in Rochester, NY. They went on to have 4 children, Kenneth, Maryellen, Christopher and Carol. He also has 3 grandchildren, Ashley, Christopher and Nicole.

For 33 years, Manfred worked as a Machinist at a tool and dye machine manufacturer called Davenport Machine & Tool Company, retiring in 1987.

Manfred was a dedicated family man. He loved sports, traveling and spending time outdoors. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
