Obituary of Dawn Ellwanger

Ellwanger, Dawn M.

Greece: July 19, 2018, at the age of 57. Predeceased by her father, Joseph Pizzo. Dawn is survived by her husband, Thomas E. Ellwanger; children, Jennifer (Geoffrey) Goodrell, Donald (Jayme Duffy) Ellwanger and Anthony (Laurel) Ellwanger,; her mother, Pansy (Lawrence) Pizzo; brother, Joey Pizzo; 8 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews & cousins. Dawn worked for Top's Market and Acosta Merchandise.

Dawn's visitation will be held 2-6 PM on Sunday, July 22nd at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane. Her funeral service will be celebrated 10:00 am on Monday at the funeral home. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Golisano Children's Hospital at Strong, 300 East River Rd., PO Box 278996, Rochester, NY 14627 in Dawn's memory.

Dawn was born on September 19, 1960 to Joseph and Pansy Pizzo. She grew up in Rochester, NY in the town of Greece with her brother Joey. Dawn graduated from Olympia High School in 1978. She met her husband Tom at his sister’s wedding. They married in 1980 and went on to have 3 children, Jennifer, Donald and Anthony. Dawn worked for Topps Market as the General Manager, where she also recently retired from. Her favorite events in life were celebrating the holidays every year as she took much pleasure in cooking for her family. During her free time, Dawn enjoyed watching soap operas and playing internet games. She loved listening to country music, as Zach Brown and Toby Keith were her favorite artists. Dawn especially liked to go shopping in search for the best deals and sales around town. Eating out on Saturday nights was her favorite thing to do over the weekend. Dawn was described as a person who was loyal and dedicated to her family. She truly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Dawn will always be deeply missed, and her legacy will live on through her family and friends who will always love and remember her loving spirit.
