Obituary of Joseph Trujillo

Joseph F. Trujillo, 55, of Hilton, NY passed away peacefully on May 1, 2018 after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on June 22, 1962 in Buffalo, NY to Julie and Lee Trujillo.  In 1986 he married his college sweetheart, Teresa Whitcraft.  They enjoyed a wonderful life together for more than three decades.  In 2006 they were blessed by the arrival of their amazing daughter, Kristen, who was the greatest joy of Joe’s life. Not only was he a devoted husband and loving father, Joe was also a dedicated teacher and compassionate friend.  He touched the lives of all who knew him.  Joe believed in family.  He loved spending time outdoors, camping in the Adirondacks with his girls and his dogs, and capturing precious moments with his camera.  After a sunny day out on the boat, Joe enjoyed relaxing with a competitive game of cards and firing up the grill. The students and staff at Eastridge High School were his second family.  Affectionately known as “Mr. T,” Joe was an inspirational teacher and mentor.  He encouraged all of his students to achieve “crown-worthy” success through his kind spirit and sense of humor.

Joe is survived by his wife, Teresa; daughter, Kristen; mother & father, Lee and Julie Trujillo; sister, Teresa Turner; brother, Bob (Amanda) Trujillo; father-in-law, Len Whitcraft, brothers-in-law; Mark (Gail) Whitcraft, Mike (Kris) Whitcraft; sister-in-law, Anne Babb; nephews, Nathan & Andrew Turner, Mike (Liz) Waring; nieces, Jen (Dom) Data, Elizabeth, Sarah & Katie Babb and many other loving family members, amazing friends, coworkers and students.
