Obituary of Bruno Russo

Greece: May 14, 2018. Bruno is survived by his wife of 61 years, Clara Russo; daughters, Mary (Joseph) Santacroce & Caroline Race; grandsons, Joseph S. & Robert Santacroce, Richard, Steven & Timothy Race; brother Nicola Russo; several nieces, nephews and dear friends. 

Bruno’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, May 17th, 2018, 9:30AM at Our Mother of Sorrows Church, 5000 Mt. Read Blvd., followed by his Entombment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to American Stroke Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231 in Bruno’s memory.

Bruno was born in Calabria, Italy on April 18th1929. While he was living in Italy, Bruno served in the Italian Navy. He met his wife Clara on a train and struck up a conversation with her. Bruno and Clara were married for 61 years and had two daughters, Mary and Caroline. Bruno studied geography and loved to travel, especially to Italy, Spain and Germany. He was also a history buff and enjoyed reading. Bruno liked to play the trombone and watch soccer. His favorite music artist was Beethoven and he loved the songs, Volare and Ava Maria. Bruno was known to be a family man who enjoyed the holidays and spending time with his five grandchildren. He was described as a sincere man who always meant well in everything that he did. Bruno will be dearly missed and will always lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
