Paul W. Lauf, D.F.A.
Greece - Passed peacefully on May 16, 2018 at age 76. Predeceased by his son, Paul Neil Lauf; survived by his devoted wife Sharry of 53 years; son, Douglas (Deborah) Lauf; grandsons, Christian & Cameron Lauf; sister, Jean (Chet Barnhart) Rossi; nieces, nephews and cousins. Paul’s visitation will be held Monday, May 21 from 2-4PM & 6-8PM at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between Rte 390 & Long Pond Rd). His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, May 22, 9:30AM at St. Lawrence Church, 1000 N. Greece Rd. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 7, E. Syracuse, NY 13057 in Paul’s memory.
Mr. Lauf received a Bachelor’s degree from Clark University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kapa. He received a Master’s degree in Chemistry from Holy Cross College. Paul was employed as a Senior Research Chemist/Patent Liaison/Information Analyst, for Eastman Kodak Research Labs for 33 years. Following retirement, Mr. Lauf received an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts Degree in 2002 from London International University in recognition of his 35 years of art history research (Dada, Surrealism, and Modern Italian art) and his book, Giorgio DeChirico: The Father of Italian Metaphysical Art (UMI, Ann Arbor).
