Obituary

Concetta Capodicasa, a beloved pillar of her family, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and resilience. Born October 31, 1941, in Caltanissetta, Sicily (Italy) and was living with her children and grandchildren in Woodstock. GA. Concetta was a beacon of light to all who knew her.

Throughout her life, Concetta touched the hearts of countless individuals with her boundless kindness and unwavering love. She dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her family and demonstrated resilience, having left her native land in Sicily to start her new life in Rochester, NY at the age of 20.

Concetta's passion for life was evident in everything she did. In her Rochester home on Old Well Road with her husband Remo, she was an avid gardener, she found solace and joy among her flowers, nurturing them with tender care. Her green thumb was matched only by her culinary skills, as she delighted family and friends alike with her delicious Italian dishes, each one made with love and tradition. Everybody loved her sauce and meatballs! And Concetta loved her RAI TV; she loved connecting with her culture each and every day at her home at Woodstock even though she was thousands of miles away.

She enjoyed making repeated connections with her kids and grandkids each day via phone asking them the question "What are you doing?" That was her way of always staying close and making sure she had a pulse on our wellbeing at all times.

Beyond her talents in the kitchen and the garden, Concetta was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. Her family meant everything to her, and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, creating cherished memories that will be treasured for generations to come.

While we mourn the loss of Concetta, we also celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the profound impact she had on the people around her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved and inspired.

Concetta is survived by her loving family. Her sister Rose Wright (Husband: Marvin Wright), her three kids (Anna Maria Crumb, Anthony Capodicasa (Wife: Roberta) and David E. Capodicasa (husband: Robert Goodman) and her beautiful grandchildren (Emily, Olivia and Ethan), nephew (Kevin Barone), who will carry her memory with them always. Though she may be gone, her legacy of love and kindness will continue to shine brightly, illuminating the lives of all who were blessed to know her.

A Funeral Mass to honor Concetta's life will be held at St. Theodore's Church, 168 Spencerport Rd., Rochester, 14606. Followed by a gathering to celebrate her memory.
