Karen “Toni” (Grout) Henry, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 27th, 2026, at the age of 83, surrounded by the love of her family. Karen was predeceased by her two brothers, David Grout and Jim Grout.
Karen was born on July 26th, 1942, in Lockport, NY, and later moved to Rochester, NY, where she started her family and made lifelong friendships.
Karen married the love of her life, Bruce A. Henry, on December 18th, 1965, in Lockport, NY. Karen and Bruce raised three children and enjoyed exploring and traveling the world together.
Karen worked as an educator at Holmes Road Elementary School in Rochester, NY and took great pride in working with children and collaborating with her many work colleagues. Karen was a longstanding member of Bethany Presbyterian and served as a deacon as well as several other church groups and functions, participated in many other social groups such as golf leagues, garden clubs and several women’s groups.
Karen found tremendous joy and comfort in spending time with family and engaging in all family activities with her children, grandchildren, son and daughters-in-law and especially enjoyed all of the memorable family vacations and holidays spent together through the years.
Keeping Karen’s wonderful memory in their hearts and lives is daughter Barbara Collins (Todd Collins), son Brett Henry (Candace Henry) and son Jason Henry and grandchildren Brittany Collins, Patrick Collins, Grace Collins, Mya Henry and Chase Henry as well as her brother William Grout (Mary), sister Hope Peters (Wayne) and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral at 2:30 PM on Saturday, April 25th, 2026, at Bethany Presbyterian Church in Rochester, NY. No prior calling but a celebration of life will be held after the funeral service at 5 PM.
