Jane Gerken
August 1, 1934 – August 7, 2026

Jane Gerken, of Rochester, New York, passed away on August 7, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on August 1, 1934, to Fred and Dorothy Nelson, Jane was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.

Jane is survived by her four sons: Greg (Elaine) Gerken, Gary (Marie) Gerken, Chris (Joy) Gerken, and Jeff (Amy) Gerken. She was the proud grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, who brought her great joy and many cherished memories. She is also survived by her brother, Tom Nelson, nieces and nephews, and her dear friend, Sharon Pyfrom.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Dorothy Nelson; her sister, Jeri Robinson; her sister-in-law, Joyce Nelson; her brother-in-law, Harley Robinson; and her nephews, Michael Nelson and Rick Nelson.

Jane worked for many years as an insurance clerk at Ashley Insurance, where she was dedicated to her work and enjoyed the people she met along the way. She loved staying active and living life to the fullest. Among her favorite pastimes were traveling, golfing, biking, and skiing. She enjoyed adventures, making memories, and spending time with the people she loved.

Above all, Jane treasured her family and the life they shared together. Her love, strength, and adventurous spirit will live on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Jane’s life story will be shared during visitation, 10:00-11:30 am on Thursday, August 13th at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane. Her celebration of life service will follow at 11:30am
