Sally Sylvia (Mastrosimone) Livolsi Gates: September 28, 2018, at the age of 91. Predeceased by her husband, Salvatore Livolsi. Sally is survived by her sisters, Michela (Joe) Falzone, Gina Mastrosimone Rosa (Pino) Marino, brothers, Vincenzo Mastrosimone Alfonso (Pina) Mastrosimone; brother-in-law, Umberto Livolsi; nieces nephews, Angie (John G.) Falzone, John (Carrie) Falzone Patricia (Steve) Cleveland; great-nieces great-nephews , Joseph Sutera, Michela Cleveland, Stevie Cleveland, Eva Falzone Aleiah Falzone; many Mastrosimone nieces and nephews from Italy, Stellina, Stella, Giuseppe, Vincenzo Aurelia, Massimo Luigi, Franca Stella. Sally was retired from Hickey Freeman. Sally's life story will be shared during visitation 5-7pm on Monday, October 1st at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated 9:30 am on Tuesday at St. Theodore's Church, 168 Spencerport Road. Entombment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Sally was born Salvatrice Mastrosimone on August 1, 1927 in Caltanissetta, Sicily. She grew up with many siblings; Michela, Gina, Rosa, Vincenzo Alfonso. After growing up with the love of her life, Sam while living in Sicily, Sally also went to school and worked at the family bakery downstairs in 1940's Sicily. There town was somewhat spared during the war and as the oldest child, she protected her many brothers and sisters. Sally married her long time "bus driving love" Sam and she described the times during the summer months as some of the best times of her life. Sally and her youngest sister Michela would ride as "passengers" on Sam's bus to the sandy beaches for the day...everyday. While at the beach, Salvatrice would hear about the United States and heard about this "American dream" that everyone was talking about. She decided to bring her youngest sister, Michela with her on this journey to another part of the world and realized her dream when she became a US Citizen. Sally immigrated to Rochester via Halifax, Nova Scotia, via Toronto, Ontario from Sicily in 1965. It was when she became a US Citizen that she proudly changed her name to Sally. After she achieved her American dream, Sally became the Lead Tailor/ Seamstress at Hickey Freeman for 30 years. Her youngest sister's children were the ones she called her godchildren and who she helped raise with her sister, Michela. Sally went on all the family beach trips with her sister's family, which is where many fond and wonderful memories were created. Throughout her life, Sally always enjoyed going to the beach. To this day, Sally still loves being at the beach with her husband Sam. She will be deeply missed and always lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
