Elaine was born to her parents Sam Ida Cerone. She and her brother Bob grew up on Plymouth Ave/Jay Street. In her childhood years, she became friends with (cousin) Joyce Marasco Attardo. This early friendship grew into a lifelong "best friend."
During Elaine's high school years she was a member of the "Debs." She was also a cheerleader and participated in the choir. It was during this time that Elaine met who would become the love of her life, Ben Gioseffi. Their courtship was special, and it became a lifetime love affair that lasted for over 52 years of marriage.
Elaine Graduated from Jefferson High School in 1959. She enrolled in the Rochester General Hospital School of Nursing where she became an RN. Her career took her into the Emergency Room at Rochester General Hospital. She also worked in Orthopedic Nursing. Most notably was the time she spent working for the Greece Central School District. During this time, she spent over 25 years working as a School Nurse for Paddy Hill Elementary School.
Elaine loved music, shopping, crafts, and summer festivals. She loved wine and she hated technology.
She was a 40 year member of the Greece Choral Society. Elaine was also a 50 year Bridge Club Member. She spent many years participating in the Maiden Lane Morning Bowling League. Most notably she was a "super fan" for her husband's coaching events, children and grandchildren's activities.
Elaine loved her grandchildren with all her heart. She had a cure for all their ailments. Most often she would prescribe a cure that included a hug, bandaid or food, all of which were successful because they came with her loving touch.
Elaine enjoyed her many family trips to Myrtle Beach, the Rose Bowl and to Italy with Ray Marie, several trips with the DiNatales, Rockwoods Dick Jean Cerone.
Elaine was the happiest when sitting near the water: her pool, a lake, enjoying a boat ride or spending time by the ocean. She will be dearly missed.
