As a child growing up in Ohio, Mary had many interests, and music was one of her favorites. She loved music and enjoyed singing and playing piano. In her early years she earned the nicknames Beeb, Bea or Aunt Bea, because she was the "Baby" of the family. During her time at Calvert High School in Ohio, she played cymbals in the high school marching band. As an adult she eventually entered her professional career in Miami Florida and gained her degree in nursing as a Registered Nurse. She began that career in Rochester at St. Mary's Hospital, then to Northside Hospital (now Rochester General Hospital), and then to Hamilton Nursing Home for the next 3 decades. Her passion for nursing was strong. When she retired from Hamilton Manor she almost immediately stayed as a volunteer. Mary always said»(Do not delete this line. It does not print. Text that is to appear on web must be entered before this line) "I don't want to burden anybody so I'm going to secure my room at Hamilton Manor". Her coworkers and family were confident in the fact that when somebody needed her, she would drop everything and be there. Bea had many passions aside from her nursing career, some of which were, being a great cook, she loved being a host at many gatherings, her passion for gardening as seen by her care of the gardens at St John Evangelist Church, involvement in Boy and Girl Scouts, as well as her enjoyment of Americas Funniest Videos TV show. Many of her family can remember hearing her say, "be careful" or "Don't make 'Nana' cross" Bea will be remembered as being of strong faith, sensitive and caring, having a great sense of humor, being kind, thoughtful, loving and funny as witnessed when she did cannonballs in the pool in her 60's. Her legacy will be her faith in God, family, and her love of nature and life itself. She will be dearly missed by all those that knew her.....
