Rochester: November 3, 2014. Rose is predeceased by her husband, Eugene Marcello; brothers, Jim Palermo Onofrio "Nof" Palermo; sister, Betty Palermo. She is survived by her sons, Robert (Joyce) Marcello John (Rose) Marcello; grandsons, Bobby Marcello, Michael Marcello, John Marcello, Joe Marcello; grandaughter, Samantha Marcello; brother, Pat (Virginia) Palermo; sisters, Carm (Larry) Dunn, Florence (Don) Smith, Joanne (Ed) McDonnell Carol Gagliano; several nieces nephews. Rose's visitation will be Thursday 2-4 PM 7-9 PM at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between 390 Long Pond Rd.) Her funeral service will be celebrated on Friday at 10 AM at St. Helen's Church, 310 Hinchey Road. Interment in White Haven Memorial Park, 210 Marsh Rd. Pittsford, 14534. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to PXE International, 4301 Connecticut Ave. NW Suite 404, Washington, DC 20008-2369, in Rose's memory. Rose was born on August 23, 1926. She grew up on her family's farm in Elba, NY where she also graduated high school. Rose met her husband, Eugene through mutual friends and they were married for 52 years. Rose's favorite holiday was Easter and she loved hosting Sunday family dinners. Some of Rose's hobbies included gardening and singing in the choir at St. Helen's Church with Joanne Hartman. Rose also enjoyed listening to religious radio and her favorite artist was Frank Sinatra. Rose was the Matriarch of her family. She was described as resilient, traditional and always put others before her. Rose will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
