August 15, 2014. Predeceased by her parents, Harold Greenwood Emily Warner; husband, John Herford; son, Stephen Herford; 5 sisters 1 brother. Survived by sons, Roy (Carol) Herford David (Carol) Herford; daughter, Claire (Herb) Geiger; grand-daughters, Heather (Roman) Misula Olivia Herford; grandsons, Shaun, Phillip, Brandon (Michele), Colin, Jason Ian Herford, Erik Ryan Geiger; great-grandson, Mikhail Misula; several nieces nephews; friends, Gwen Claude Salisbury, Juanita Patton, Shirley Richardson, Anne Berl Margaret Mepsted. Margaret"s funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 am at the funeral home, 1141 Vintage Lane (between 390 Long Pond Rd.). Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Special thanks to the wonderful caregivers at Edna Tina Wilson Living Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Journey Home, 994 Long Pond Rd. Rochester, NY 14626 in Margaret's memory. Margaret was born on June 13, 1930 to a large family in London England where she attended school and met her husband John. Margaret moved to the United States in 1964 where she raised 4 children and later enjoyed 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. She loved to read, enjoyed traveling to visit spend time with family friends vacationing in warm climates. Margaret liked to challenge her brain by doing crossword puzzles. Margaret was described as kind, forgiving, social and faith filled. She was known to be resilient, gracious, proper and well mannered. Margaret had a good memory, was a great conversationalist and had a wonderful sense of humor. She spent her time volunteering at Journey Home for 9 years and was also a Candy Striper at Rochester General Hospital. What was most important to Margaret was her family, friends and caring for others. Margaret will be dearly missed.
