Greece:: May 6, 2017. Charles passed away peacefully at the age of 81. Predeceased by his parents, Thomas Dorothy Richardson; sister-in-law, Kathy Richardson. Charles is survived by his loving wife, Nancy (Hammar) Richardson; loving sons, Steven (Lisa Tremiti) Richardson Jeffrey (Tina) Richardson; cherished grandchildren, Alex Sarah Richardson; brothers, Dave (Jane) Richardson, Jim (Donna) Richardson, Ron (Don Wallenhorst) Richardson, Ken (Sue) Richardson, John (Lynn) Richardson Tom (Lynn) Richardson; sister, Mary (Rick Mundrick) Capuano; Sister-in-law, Millie Kirby; several nieces and nephews. His funeral mass will be celebrated 10:30 AM on Saturday at St. Lawrence Church, 1000 N. Greece Rd. Interment Falls Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the National Parkinson Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131 in Charles' memory. Charles was born on September 4, 1935. He spent his childhood on Long Pond Road, enjoying hunting and fishing in the area. His parents, Thomas Dorothy had a large family, Charles was one of 8 children; his siblings, Dave, Jim, Ron, Ken, John, Tom and Mary kept Charles on his toes! He attended Aquinas Institute, where he received his high school diploma. After high school, Charles graduated from Alfred State. He went on to work for Monroe County Department of Pure Waters, where he was a Contract Manager for 32 years. Charles met Nancy through friends and they were married June 14, 1958. In time, their sons, Steven and Jeffrey were born and made their family complete! Eventually they were blessed with grandchildren, Alex and Sarah whom they enjoyed spending time with. He continued to be an outdoorsman until his last day. He truly enjoyed being outdoors even more if he was with his family and friends. Family fishing trips at Tupper Lake, and hunting deer put a big smile on his face! Charles had a deep faith in Catholicism. Many of his friends he met through the church. When not at church or outdoors, he enjoyed photography. He enjoyed the National Geographic Magazine, NRA Magazine, American Hunter and The Conservationist via DEC Magazine. He was quite handy around the home as well. From plumbing to electric to building - Charles did it all! Charles was a kind and patient person, always very caring, personable and gentle. He was humble, strong, loyal, dedicated, committed and meticulous, noted as being a perfectionist. Charles will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
