Marie J. (DeStefano) Pantaleo GREECE - September 5, 2019. Marie is prede­ceased by her husband, Joseph Pantaleo. She is survived by her children, Linda Hurd Joseph (Khonsavanh) Pan­taleo; grandchildren, Jake (April Farnham) Hurd, Sarah Pantaleo Laura Starkweather; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Rita Mumby; sev­eral nieces, nephews, cousins dear friends. Marie's life story will be shared during her visitation, Friday, Sep­tember 13th, 2-4 7-9 at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (Be­tween 390 Long Pond Rd.). Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated, Sat­urday, September 14th, 9:30 AM at Holy Ghost Church, 250 Coldwater Rd., immediately fol­lowed by her entomb­ment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Marie grew up in Dunmore, PA, a suburb of Scranton. Though she loved where she grew up, she eventually re-located to Rochester. She worked for the Churchville-Chili School District and kept life-long friends that she still meets for lunch. She loved weddings and parties and dancing the night away. Cooking was another of her favorite past times and made an amazing sauce, but was a stickler for handwashing for anyone who chose to help her in the kitchen. Marie sang in the Holy Ghost Choir and became President of their Young Seniors Club. She was also an avid reader and loved her music as well. Big band, Glen Miller, Benny Goodman were her favorites. Her resiliency was 2nd to none and she was very detail-oriented; she kept very busy. Proud of her DeStefano roots, you'd always see her at the family reunions. Marie was social with a great sense of humor. If Marie was your friend, you had a friend for life. She will be missed very much.
