Betty was born on February 20, 1928 in Rochester, NY. She grew up on Austin Street and was the youngest of 5 siblings. Elizabeth met her friend, Margaret Russi when they were very young children. Elizabeth and Margaret maintained a wonderful life-long friendship of 88 years. Among the many years of wonderful memories, one of the most memorable was the time they both sang on the radio during their youth. Elizabeth attended Holy Apostles grade school and graduated from Nazareth Academy High School. As an adult, Elizabeth worked at Rochester Products for several years as a cashier. She met Raymond Megerle at a bowling alley and continued a 5 year courtship until they married at Holy Apostles Church in 1953. During her free time, Elizabeth enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and jumbo word search everyday. Her favorite T.V. shows were, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy and Judge Judy. Some of Elizabeth's favorite music was Irish Folk Music, the Bee Gees and Anne Murray. She also loved her chocolates and all kinds of sweets. Elizabeth was known to be loving, a good friend to others and had a great sense of humor. She was very proud of her family and cherished all the years of memories built from holiday's, special occasions and birthdays. Elizabeth will be deeply missed by many, but she will never be forgotten and always lovingly remembered by her friends and family.
