Andy was born in Glasgow, Scotland Sept 6th, 1936. He went to high school at White Hill in Glasgow. Before he immigrated to the United States in 1958 he was a TV repair technician. Upon landing in the states he started at Eastman Kodak and worked there for many years. He worked his way up to a management position in telecommunication at Kodak and finished his career working for IBM.
He was very strong willed and determined, accomplishing many things in his life. Andy played professional soccer for the Rochester Lancers. He was also an avid golfer and enjoyed all competition. He was a past President of the Rochester District Golf Association. He was an accomplished Public Speaker and won the International Toastmaster Award in 1975. He was a Free Mason, member of the Tartan Square Club and belonged to the Robert Burns Society.
Andy traveled to Florida often to enjoy the ocean. He was an avid daily crossword puzzle fanatic. He followed the Rangers Scottish Football (soccer) team and loved the Buffalo Bills. Andy was a legend who lit up the room when he walked in. He was known for telling many true stories and a few good jokes. He helped many people throughout his life and made everyone he met along the way laugh and smile. He will truly be missed by all that knew him.
Andy's visitation will be on Thursday from 4-8 pm at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between 390 Long Pond Rd.) His funeral service will be on Friday at 11 am in the funeral home. Interment private. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Rochester District Golf Association Junior Golf Program. www.rdga.org
