GREECE - Mary went to be with the Lord, August 6, 2019. Mary is predeceased by her husband, Pasquale Caricchio; parents, John Theresa (Marcello) Pettrone; brothers, Joseph John Pettrone. She is survived by her loving daughters, Annamaria (David) Falzarano Marisa (Edward) DeMario; adoring grandchildren, Michael (Michael Pingitore) Falzarano, Vanessa (Andrew) Brookes, Christopher (Sean) Falzarano, Stephen (Fiance Julia Clark) DeMario Gabriella (Fiance Jordan Cox) DeMario; great-grandchildren, Summer Rose DeMario and Ava Marietta Brookes; sister-in-law, Ann Marie Caricchio; several nieces, nephews, cousins dear friends. Special thanks for the loving care Mary received from the staff at Latta Rd. Nursing Home. Mary's life story will be shared during her visitation, Sunday, August 11th, 1-5 PM at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between 390 Long Pond Rd.). Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, August 12th, 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 296 Flower City Park, immediately followed by her Entombment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to American Cancer Society, 1120 S. Goodman St., Rochester, NY 14620 or to the Humane Society at Lolly Pop Farm, 99 Victor Rd., Fairport, NY 14450 in her memory. Mary was born on February 21, 1931 to Giovanni Theresa Pettrone. She grew up in Rochester, NY with her older brothers, Joseph John, whom she adored. During her childhood, Mary attended St. Anthony's school and enjoyed playing with her cousins who lived in the neighborhood. She graduated from Nazareth Academy where she was skilled in short-hand and loved music and singing. Faith was very important to Mary as she was a parishioner to St. Anthony's Church. Mary married Pasquale Caricchio on September 19th 1959. They were blessed with 2 daughters, Annamaria and Marisa. Later in life their family expanded with 5 grandchildren, Michael, Vanessa, Stephen, Christopher and Gabriella. Mary adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with her family during holidays and celebrations. Mary worked as an Administrative Assistant to the Director of the Rochester Chapter of the American Red Cross. She assisted families and veterans post WWII. She often went in uniform to assist with the blood drives. Mary enjoyed many activities. She participated in her church choir, played the accordion, attended the Italian Opera; Luciano Pavarotti's Panis Angelicus and her favorite, La Boheme. Mary also enjoyed shopping, was a part of the PTA in the Rochester City School District and was the Secretary of the Parent Council Committee at Most Precious Blood. Her favorite sports teams were Rochester Rhino's and the Rochester Lancers. Mary's favorite restaurants to dine at were Papa Joe's, Red Fedele's Brookhouse and Bella Pasta. Mary was described as friendly kind, social, giving and possessed a strong faith. She was known to be gracious, dignified, elegant and non-judgmental. She took pride in her appearance and always put other people first. Mary had a favorite saying, which was "Tutto per te mio Gesu tutto per te". Her favorite phrase was "One day at a time". Mary will be dearly missed and always loving remembered by her many friends and family.
