Private interment in Riverside Cemetery. Leona was born in Eauclaire, WI and moved to Buffalo, NY in 1925. She was very close with her 5 brothers and sisters. On April 2, 1949 she married Ken. She had been introduced to him by her sister Gert's husband. She had worked in retail sales prior to the birth of her children. She was a stay-at-home mom until they left the house, at which time she went back into retail sales. Leona liked to vacation at Myrtle Beach and Daytona Beach. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, baking, embroidery, was an avid reader, gardener, liked to travel, can tomatoes, and had a deep faith. She always put her family first, enjoyed long car rides, and watching Matlock. Family and friends would best describe Leona as someone who was warm, loving, gentle, was well-loved, always had a smile, easy to approach, selfless, and having a great sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
