Rochester: Passed away February 1, 2022, at the age of 76. He is predeceased by his parents, Bernard and Rose Desiderio. Survived by his children, Jason Desiderio, Adam (Alexa Schreiber) Desiderio; grandchildren, Christopher Desiderio, Emily Desiderio, Michael Desiderio, Paul Desiderio, and Robert Desiderio; siblings, Nicholas (Cathy) Desiderio and his twin sister, Nancy Desiderio Samuelson, Mary Ann (Peter) Grigg; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Michael's life story will be shared during his visitation on Sunday, February 13th from 12-2 PM, at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between Rt. 390 & Long Pond Rd.). Michael was full of love and life. He was kind and gentle. An intellectual. A tough but thoughtful leader. Athletic. Hard-working. Mike cared. He was the world's greatest dad. Mike loved sports, especially baseball, football, bowling, horse racing, and pool. He frequently coached his sons' baseball teams. And then, with his sons, he coached his grandsons. He was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking for his family. He could often be heard telling people, "you don't have to be hungry to eat." Mike was born on April 3, 1945, to Bernard and Rose Desiderio. He had three siblings, who he loved dearly. Mary Ann, Nicholas, and his twin Nancy meant the world to him. He had two children, Jason and Adam. And he had five grandchildren who adored him: Jason's children Chris and Emily; and Adam's children Michal, Paul, and Robert. Over his life he also had several pets. He leaves behind his dog Caesar and cat Tilly, while joining, cats Pearl and Opal. Mike leaves a legacy of fierce love for his family. He deeply loved all who came before him. And he will always love and watch over all of us who come after him. Nothing was more important to Mike than his family.
