Remembering Sue:

Susan died on Sunday, January 26, 2025. She was born in Rochester, NY to parents Norman and Cynthia Dunn on April 19, 1961. Shortly after she graduated from Bishop Kearney High School, she was delighted to obtain her first full job. She was so proud to be making her own way in the world.

Then she met Gary who soon became the “love of her life”. A short time later they decided to marry in a simple, quiet ceremony which led to a lifetime of happiness.  And then – – their happiness increased with the birth of their precious son Jason – – the light of their lives. Sue’s entire world was devoted to these two people. Her little family was the most important thing in the world to her.

Sue was especially fond of the holidays – – she just loved the hustle and bustle of Christmas, toys for Jason, tools for Gary, decorating the tree, all the wrapping paper and ribbons – – but most important of all – – the wide-eyed look of amazement on Jason’s face as he saw all the wonderful gifts from “Santa”.  What a wonderful season – – the house was filled with the aroma of baking cookies, decorated with frosting and sprinkles! She so enjoyed lavishing her little family with gifts and all her special holiday cooking and baking. What fun she had!!!!!!

The years passed and Sue was even more enthusiastic about her baking – – she was making many varieties of cookies now – – sometimes with her sister Judy, sometimes with other family members. She would spend days/weeks – – baking and decorating – – and then – – would give them all away to special friends – – people that meant so much to her!!!!!!  She was such a wonderful, generous person – – she just loved sharing anything she had with her friends and family.

Susie was so passionate about so many things in her life, not big extravagant things but simple little things that meant the most to her.   She loved watching the birds, the beautiful red cardinals were her favorite. She also loved her collectibles – – especially her shot glasses! If any of her friends or family members went someplace special, they were always reminded to bring home a shot glass for her! Another of her great passions was the love of bears! Yes, bears of all shapes and sizes!

Each spring as most people were planting their vegetable gardens, Sue was very carefully arranging her bears in her “bear garden” – – to absolute perfection every year. Sue also loved to have bonfires in their fire pit – – just to sit and relax after a hard day at work.  There was a time at Aunt Shirley’s and Uncle Bruce’s, Susie mentioned how nice it would be to have a fire – – well, Uncle Bruce and Aunt Shirley were only too glad to accommodate with a nice little fire – -just enough to warm everyone up a little!!  That little bonfire turned into the biggest fire Sue had ever seen – – and lasted almost 3 – 4 days!! They almost had to call the fire department!!

And the Buffalo Bills!!!   Oh, how she LOVED the Bills!!!!!   Anyone who knows Sue – – knows exactly what I am talking about!!!

Sue was such a kind, loving person, always doing for others, many times going out of her way just to please someone else. She was a one in a million – – and we were all so very blessed to have had such a wonderful person in our lives.
