Gary R. Martin

Born in Buffalo, NY on January 29, 1941, Gary passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025 at the age of 84 surrounded by his wife and children. He was a devoted husband and loving father who was predeceased by his Father, Richard H. Martin, his Mother, Ethel Louise Wooster Martin, and sister Carole Jermyn (Patrick).

Gary is survived by his wife of sixty-three years Theresa, and their children, Jeff Martin (Jamie), Brian Martin (Jennifer) and Amy Kotsch (Stephan); grandchildren, Kyle Martin (Ellie), Spencer Martin (Ilysia), Aidan Kotsch and Mya Kotsch; brother-in-law William Whyte (Sheri), many, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Growing up in South Lima, before moving to Rochester and graduating from Charlotte High School, Gary also enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He was a proud US Navy Veteran then worked at Kodak for 29 years before retiring in 1991.

Gary was a devout Christian, enjoyed spending time with his family, loved to read and kept meticulous records of his minesweeper progress. Whether it be a soccer match or football game for any of his children or grandchildren, Gary could always be heard from stands cheering them on from above the noise of the rest of the crowd.

In addition to being an expert Euchre player and lover of sports, especially his Green Bay Packers, he was an avid, life-long golfer and enjoyed being field Marshall at Deerfield Country Club in his retirement years.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew him but we are comforted knowing he is at eternal peace in the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
