Remembering Theresa~

Theresa M. Giullari was born on February 15, 1959, in Spencerport, New York, to Peter Giullari, Jr., a dedicated funeral home director, and Mary Giullari, a compassionate dental hygienist. One of five children, Theresa grew up surrounded by the love of her siblings—Peter Giullari III, Marcia DeWaal, Marc Giullari, and Annmarie Giullari. She graduated from Spencerport High School in 1977, already known for her infectious smile, warm heart, and magnetic personality that would come to define her life.

Theresa’s energy and joy were boundless. With a laugh that lit up any room and a spirit that never turned anyone away, she became the emotional cornerstone of her family. She was thoughtful, caring, endlessly giving, and deeply grounded—traits that made her not just dependable but truly unforgettable.

A creative soul, Theresa found joy in gardening, pottery, painting, and crafts. She had a passion for adventure, embracing new experiences, foods, and destinations with open arms. She loved boating and fishing, especially during summer weeks spent at Oneida Lake. A proud member of the Honeoye Gun Club, Hemlock Gun Club, and the Tidevue Estates Civic Association, she was also a regular and generous supporter of various veterans’ organizations.

Theresa’s professional life was marked by dedication and versatility. She held several positions at Performance Technologies, where her strong work ethic and organization skills shined, eventually retiring from REDCOM Laboratories. Her colleagues knew her as reliable, motivated, and a joy to work with—just as her friends and family did.

Theresa reconnected with James “Jim” Guck, a high school classmate. Their bond grew into a loving partnership that spanned nearly 40 years. Together, they built a full life filled with travel, laughter, and shared passions—from boating and fishing to their beloved “Wandering Wednesday” retirement adventures. They purchased a home in Florida and embraced the joys of retired life, never losing their sense of wonder or their love for a good laugh.

Theresa was a devoted mother to her two children, Scott and Sara Grapensteter, and embraced Jim’s daughter, Crissy Bergman, as her own. Her role as “Nana” was her greatest joy. She was the world’s best—loving, playful, and always up for a movie night featuring classics like Godzilla. Her grandchildren Madison Bergmann, Audrey Smeaton, Benjamin Smeaton, & James Grapensteter  were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

A social butterfly with an outgoing nature, Theresa made and maintained lasting friendships everywhere she went—from lifelong high school friends to neighbors in Honeoye and her new Tidevue community. Her zest for life was contagious. She loved dancing, going to concerts, soaking up the sun, hosting parties, and was always ready with a quick pun to keep the mood light.

Though she had no love for peas or spiders—anything hairy with eight legs—there was little else that could dim her vibrant spirit. Theresa was the life of every party, a dependable friend, and the glue that held her family together. She was, quite simply, loved by all.

In every phase of her life, Theresa led with her heart. Her presence brought joy, her laughter healed wounds, and her love left an imprint that time will never erase. She will be remembered not only for the happiness she brought into the world but for the way she inspired others to live, love, and laugh freely.
