Jorge L. Pérez passed away at the age of 80, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, December 20, 2025.

Jorge was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, on March 17, 1945. He was the youngest of eight children. He was predeceased by his parents, José and Regalada Pérez, and his siblings Juan, José, Gilberto, Josefa, Lydia, and Amelia.

Jorge had gifted hands and a natural curiosity for how things worked. In his youth, he enjoyed putting together race cars, a skill that reflected his patience, precision, and love of working with his hands. He also enjoyed taking on projects around the house and was always fixing, building, or improving something. He had a green thumb as well and took pride in growing plants and flowers.

Jorge served in the United States Army. He gave his heart to God, his family, and country.

He began his career as a teacher in Puerto Rico, where he worked for 9 years before moving to Rochester, New York. He later worked as a teacher and administrator with the Rochester City School District, where he spent 21 years before retiring.

Above all, Jorge’s greatest love was his family.

He is survived by his brother, Lile; his wife of 58 years, Aracelis; his children Lymari, Jorge (Erica), Josué (Barbara), Luis, Marcos (Irma), and José (Crystian); 16 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Jorge will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends.

Jorge’s lifestory will be shared during visitation on Friday, December 26th from 4-7 PM at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane, 14626. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 27th at 11 AM at Parish of the Holy Family, 4100 Lyell Rd., 14606. He will be laid to rest in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
