Spencerport: November 9, 2013 at the age 74. Predeceased by his parents, Gordon Proctor Katherine C. Carney. Alfred is survived by his children, Todd Proctor, Tom Proctor, Tamara Neale; grandchildren, Adam (Amanda) Proctor, Mitchell Proctor, Clayton Proctor, Justin Proctor, Jessica Proctor, Kevin (Kelly) Neale, Mark Neale; great-great-grandchildren, Brady Proctor; brothers, Gordon Proctor Jr., James Proctor; sisters, Janice Proctor, Elaine Proctor, Marilyn Bowen; several nieces nephews. Visitation is Wednesday 2-4 7-9 PM at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between 390 Long Pond Rd). Alfred's funeral mass will be 1030 AM Thursday at St. Jude The Apostle Church, 4100 Lyell Rd, Rochester. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lifetime Care Hospice, 3111 Winton Rd. S, Rochester, NY 14623 in Alfred's memory. Alfred was born February 23, 1939. He grew up as 1 of 7 children in Springwater, Albion, Massachusetts and Rochester. He was one of seven children. He enjoyed farming. Alfred graduated from Albion High school. Alfred opened Rochester Paint Center in 1969 on Hinchey Road. In 1982, he formed Proctor Enterprise -- real estate holdings. Some of his favorite activities included being an active volunteer at St. Jude's church, playing cards and spending time outdoors. Alfred was a NY Yankees fan, and liked to watch Fox News and NCIS. He enjoyed boating at his cottage on Sodus bay. His favorite quote was, "Whenever you speak all doubts are erased." Alfred also loved spending time on his tractor and caring for his home. Having family and friends come to his home was something he always looked forward to. Family and friends would best describe Alfred as hardworking, someone who always communicated "the right way," reliable, generous, and task -oriented. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
