History
During the last months of his earthly life, while a patient in the hospital, he was telling people about Jesus` Gift of Eternal Life, and how to get saved through the precious blood of Jesus Christ. Angelo was a hero to his family, willingly giving of himself and supporting them spiritually, financially and emotionally. He was a hero to our country as he fought for freedom in WWII. Our Father and Mother left a legacy for our family to follow. Angelo`s deepest desire was for each person to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ as their personal Lord Savior. If he could say one thing to you today, he would tell you to seek Jesus` forgiveness for your sins accept Jesus` free gift of salvation. He would want you to do it today. Angelo Vernile was born in Lawrence, MA. February 13, 1923. He was the youngest of 4 brothers and a sister, but was always his Mother`s favorite. After graduating from high school in Lawrence, the family moved to Rochester. Angelo served in the army during WWII and was wounded in combat, losing the sight in one eye. After the war, he had several jobs, but eventually was hired by Hickey Freeman Company where he worked for 34 years. His family was always number one. He enjoyed the game of bocci, gardening, and was and avid bowler scoring several 300 games. Through the Godly testimony of his loving wife Stella, Angelo realized that he was a sinner that needed Jesus Christ as his Personal Lord and Saviour. Afther Angelo repented of his sins to the Lord and accepted Jesus`payment for those sins on the cross of Calvary, Angelo began to grow by leaps and bounds. He became concerned for the souls of those who didn`t have a personal relationship with Jesus. He handed out gospel tracts and personal bibles whenever possible.
