Johns, Aurora R. (Ranalletta) Greece: January 27, 2017. Aurora is predeceased by her husband, Nicholas T. Johns; son, Peter Johns; beloved daughter, Susan Johns Oldfield; son-in-law, Ed Oldfield; dear sister, Inez Ranalletta. She is survived by her sons, Mark & Steven Johns; daughter-in-law, Nancy Johns; grandchildren, Kate Brunelle, Nicholas, Isabella, Madeline & Natalie Johns; sister, Pearl Ranalletta; several nieces & nephews. Aurora grew up on Lexington Avenue and went to Jefferson High School. She attended RBI after graduation. Interestingly enough, she worked at the U of R on the Manhattan Project. She married her sweetheart Nicholas and worked until her children were born and became a full-time mom. She really enjoyed cooking Italian dishes for her family. She adored having them all around for the holidays, her children, grandchildren, and her nieces and nephews were like her own children. Aurora was also very crafty. She loved to arrange flowers and sew. She was talented at making clothing. Favorite shows were Shark Tank and Alfred Hitchcock Presents. She was fond of music, the Italian classics. Though she was somewhat reserved and private, she was selfless, caring, patient and loving. She rarely complained. Aurora's visitation will be Friday, February 3rd 4-8 PM at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between 390 & Long Pond Rd.). Her funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday 9:30 AM at St.Charles Borromeo Church, 3003 Dewey Ave. Entombment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to your charity of choice in Aurora's memory.
