Survived by her daughter, Astrid (Richard) Anderson; granddaughter, Jennifer (Matthew) Anderson-Seymour; great-granddaughter, Monica Paige Anderson; great-great grandchildren, Kira Nicole, Cameron Neal Anderson; sister, Rosemarie Schmitt; sister-in-law, Walli Zender; nieces nephews, Sonja, Robert, Thomas, Christian, Silvia, Jolene, Elina Bauer, Michael, Stefan, Claudia Sabine Zender. Barbara was born on January 4, 1933 in Trier, Germany to parents, Gertrude (Hoffman) and Matthias Zender. She has a sister, Rosemarie and a brother, Bruno. She had a hard time growing up in post WWII Germany. She met Robert Adams and they were married when she was 17 years old, in 1950 and she was devoted to him for 54 years. She had a daughter, Astrid and they were always close, even during the times when the Atlantic Ocean separated them. For 29 years she worked in a nursing home in Arbeiterwohlfahrt, Trier, Germany. In 2004, Barbara came over to the United States to be with her only daughter, after the passing of her beloved husband Robert. During this time, Barbara liked to watch John Wayne movies, Law and Order, movie classics and Dancing with the Stars. Barbara was faithful in her religion and she went to church every week. Her special holidays were Christmas, especially Advent. In 1984 she had a special Christmas as her family visited her in Germany. Barbara was a Matriarch, generous and sweet. All who knew Barbara will miss her greatly.
