Passed away July 5, 2014 of pancreatic cancer. Predeceased by parents, George Arlene Bonin; brothers, Rev. David B. Bonin John Bonin. Barbara is survived by her spouse of 21 years, Karen Monast; brother, Ken (Irene) Bonin of Vermont; sister-in-law, Vickie Bonin; aunt, Mary Ann Hanna; 1 niece; several nephews; many cousins extended family members, and a multitude of friends. Visitation is 4-8 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between 390 Long Pond Rd) where Barbara's funeral service will also be celebrated at 11 AM on Thursday. Interment in Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to www.theanimalrescuesite.com in Barbara's memory. Barbara was born on October 20, 1950 in Rochester, NY. She was always very social and had some friendships that spanned 30 years. She enjoyed going out with them to dinner or a movie. Barb also enjoyed golfing and bowling. She loved spending time with friends, some she met at work, others through church groups, and still others from LGBT senior groups. Even though Barb loved golf, her spectator sports were also important to her. She was an avid NY Yankees and Miami Dolphins fan who loved these teams when they were doing well, but also wasn't afraid to criticize them when they were doing poorly! Barbara was very socially active and she knew many people. No matter where she went, she would bump into a friend or acquaintance. She was greatly loved and will be missed by many people.
