Click here to sign Barbara's virtual guest book Barbara was born in Franklinville, NY, a rural community in the Southern Tier, April 7, 1943. She was the only child of Orville and Viola McCluer who were older parents when they had her. As a teenager, Barb worked as a waitress at a local diner. Her Graduating class at Franklinville Central School, in 1961 had a mere 45 students. After Barbara graduated, she moved to the "Big City" of Rochester, NY. She came from a small town but was more of a City Girl. Barbara met Phil Maenza at Sears, Roebuck and Co. and married in 1964. Barbara and Phil had 3 boys, all 3 years apart. Barb returned to work only after she raised her 3 boys. She ended up working in the health care industry for 25 years. She loved to entertain family and friends, hosting many events over the years. Phil and Barb enjoyed their cruises, trips to Vegas and countless family camping trips. Barb's greatest hobby was going to the casino. She loved to play the slots. She also loved shopping and buying gifts for family and friends. Phil and Barb enjoyed dining out regularly. Barb liked the Buffalo Bills and rooting against her husband and the Dallas Cowboys. She loved her many dogs and her one cat. She loved to collect purses and jewelry. She was very proud of her rural upbringing and being designated a Daughter of the American Revolution. Her Great-Great-Grandfather founded the town of Franklinville following the Civil War and established a settlement for others to follow. Barbara loved to work and socialize with all kinds of people. She loved to change her hairstyle and keep up with the fashion trends of the times. The best five words to describe Barb, generous, loving, funny, tough loyal.
