Bouadeng (Deng) Thilavanh passed away peacefully on June 15, 2025, in Rochester, NY.

Born on June 5, 1953, in Vientiane, Laos, Deng came to America in 1980 with her husband and raised a family of five children.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Khamsay; daughters, Dyan (Alex) and Pam; sons, Somp (Carol), Kenny (Katie), and Saung (Savanity); 14 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. Deng was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother.

When you walked into her home, she would greet you with a smile and then immediately ask if you were hungry. Remembered for her legendary meals, she could prepare a feast and feed a village with ease. Always prepared with love, care, and delicious flavors, no one could ever forget her meals.

She found joy in testing her luck at the casino, loved playing slots, and never turned down a chance to play cards with family and friends. Always ready to feed you and play cards with you, she had a way of making everyone feel welcomed and loved.

Deng’s funeral service will be Saturday, June 21st at 9:30 am, at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane, 14626.
