Branddy’s life story will be shared during his visitation, Sunday, August 17th, 1-4 PM, 1411 Vintage Lane (Between 390 & Long Pond Rd.). His funeral service will be celebrated on Monday, August 18th, 10:30 AM at the funeral home, followed by his burial in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Branddy was a kind, humble, selfless person, dedicated to his family and friends. He was a great husband, father, uncle, and Godfather. He was hardworking and always on time.
He was a passionate gamer and very good at it… and of course, liked winning. He had a deep love for the sneaker culture, with a coveted collection of Jordans – very “on point.” Branddy had a soft spot for anything “old school.” He loved shows like Hawaii 5-O, Blue Bloods, RAW (wrestling), and all sports.
Branddy grew an affection for cars and enjoyed the car club life. He loved spending time with his family, but his car club team family, “Team Los 310,” was a close second. His devotion and love for his car were for his hands only. “No one could touch his baby.” All of his car acquisitions were important to him, especially when he traded a car for the Volkswagen Tiguan, known as “the Hulk.”
He was born in the Dominican Republic on June 27, 1983, to parents, Juan and Gabriela Abreu. Eventually, he moved to the United States, resuming life in Manhattan, NY. This is where he met Wanda Estrella. They blended their family with children, Jayden Abreu and Jeysha Sanchez. They were a very tight-knit family, doing everything together; watching movies, grocery shopping, car shows, and so much more.
Wanda moved to Rochester, and Branddy soon followed shortly after in 2016. Branddy gained employment at Price Rite, then at Samuel & Sons. He worked as a forklift operator and in shipping and handling.
“Blue” was Branddy’s beloved pet Quaker Parrot. When Blue was out of his cage, he followed him everywhere. Gamer that Branddy was, he even got Blue to play games with him as he sat on his shoulder.
One day, Branddy met Carmen Soto, “Tuttie” at a backyard barbecue, who quickly became an inseparable friend. They had a unique bond with a common love of cars and sneakers, particularly the Jordans. Their typical day began and ended with a “check-in.” Between the pranks, late-night runs to 7-Eleven for Big Gulps, family gatherings, holidays, and dreams for the future, they were always there for each other.
Branddy was very close to his extended family and was honored to be Godfather to his nephew, Gianni Soto. As if he were one of his own children, he made it a point to be there for Gianni whenever possible. Eventually, Branddy decided to move to Greece to be closer to family and his Godson. His Aunt Joji was also an important figure in his life.
Branddy’s caring and giving ways will be missed by all who loved him.
