Written by Charles' wife Jane:
My husband was a man of many talents, but first I have to say, I very seldom called him Chuck, his nickname from me was "buzzard" and he would call me "precious."
When he walked into a room, it lit up. He was quite the joker. We would go to a restaurant and he would order a cheese burger and when the waitress asked him how his burger was, he would say, "it's too meaty." When the grandchildren would do or say something he would say, "that's an abomination of the Lord, Matthew 23. They would give it right back to him! Two of our grandchildren, Corey and Ryan are just like him, they called themselves the 3 Chuckateers. He had a lot of crazy sayings like, "that bird," or "I hate it." He would tell boys, that the girls brought home, especially the youngest, "to be good, because I have a shovel and a gun and no one would miss you." Even though he didn't own a gun, it was good scare tactics.
Our son says he is the man he is today because of his dad. He went to RIT for electrical engineering, and worked for GM . His work ethics were impeccable. He built a huge, beautiful deck, a jungle gym for kids that every kid in neighborhood loved. He would cut trees, sell firewood and plow snow. At work he would make coffee for all the guys they gave him the name of ( fast buck chuck). He was such a hard worker. He adored kids and animals even though he called the animals curs.
He had a great love for music, especially Motown and Rolling Stones. He could name that song in one note and tell you the front and back of records, who wrote it and who sang it. He had a wealth of knowledge for history and loved trivia. In summer he grew a vegetable garden and make all kinds of soup and canned, spicy vegetables and give to his friends. He was very proud of that.
The love of my life was a truly wonderful husband and father. Our hearts are broken and will always be. You will be deeply missed my love. Rest In Peace ❤️
