April 1, 2014. Predeceased by parents, Daniel J Catherine (Callahan) Sullivan; siblings, Helen, Frances Kathleen Sullivan, Mary (Maurice) Farrell, John (Rita) Sullivan. Survived by his wife, Lee P. (Perna) Sullivan; son, Daniel J. "Knuckles" Sullivan II; several nieces nephews. Daniel was a WWII Army veteran who was a radio operator of B29's in Japan. No prior visitation. Daniel's memorial mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Saturday at St. Lawrence Church, 1000 N. Greece Rd, Rochester. Private entombment. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the School of the Holy Childhood, 100 Groton Pkwy, Rochester, NY 14623 in Daniel's memory. Daniel was born in Rochester, NY to Daniel Catherine Sullivan on December 19, 1925 and grew up on Delmar Street. He attended Holy Apostles grammar school, and graduated from Aquinas in 1944. He then attended Niagara University. He was a WWII Army veteran who was a radio operator of B29's in Japan. He later worked for Delco Products for over 30 years where he tested and worked with metals used in car manufacturing. Daniel met his future wife, Lee, at an end-of-season bowling banquet and they were later married at Holy Apostles Church on September 5, 1953. Daniel was always a sports fan and became a big fan of basketball. He also enjoyed playing golf and was also a NY Yankee and Baltimore Orioles fan. Some of his favorite past times included watching Seinfield on tv, reading non-fiction books, and enjoying classical and 1940's music. Family and friends would best describe Daniel as someone who had a great sense of humor, was witty, likeable, friendly, intelligent, private, and proud of his Irish heritage. Daniel was a good father and husband and will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
