David was born on August 11, 1959 in Rochester, NY to Joseph and Edna Bringley. He grew up in Greece, NY with his siblings: Jim, Tom, Sue, Marybeth, Bob, Joanie and Joe. As a young adult, David enjoyed the guitar, baseball and hockey. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from RIT in 1984 with a BSME. David went on to work for IBM for 25 years and later went to work for Oracle Corporation. A mutual friend had introduced Cheri and David where they ended up having 35 loving years together. In this time they created their loving family which today includes: their two sons Dustin (wife Leslie) and Drew (wife Lauren), and their grandchildren Audrey and Dylan. David thought it would be fun to coach Drew's baseball team and he thoroughly enjoyed it for approximately three years. David enjoyed so many things in life. Every fall for the last 20 years he traveled to Canada to go fishing with his best friend from Michigan with his friends' son and our sons sometimes making the trip with them. He traveled the world. Trips he made with family, friends and/or colleagues included trips to Montana, Florida, France, Italy, Germany, Disneyworld, Disneyland, China, Japan, Australia, Spain and England, Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Rico. Cheri and David were able to attend a Super Bowl and the Fiesta Bowl as awards by his employer. But of all the many vacations and trips taken, by far David's favorite place was Keuka Lake were we have been having the Bringley family reunion for many years. His nieces and nephews and now their children will miss hearing Uncle David singing and playing for them at the nightly campfires. Music was such a vital part of David's life. He loved playing the guitar, banjo and violin, much of which was self-taught. He traveled everywhere with his violin and he would even play in a parking lot just to be playing. He was active in our church playing the banjo and violin every Saturday in the folk group. David enjoyed playing golf on a league with his best friend and with members of the folk group every Sunday morning. When he was not playing an instrument you could find him woodworking, running or skiing. He was a master at woodworking. His legacy lives on in the beautiful furniture pieces he crafted for our home which includes a cherry and curly maple bed, dresser, blanket chest and end tables. David never met anything he could not do or fix, was well read and was always looking for the next adventure. He will surely be missed by all.
