September 17, 2014. Predeceased by his parents, Joseph Maria Stella Cavuoto; father in-law, Joseph DiGiugno. Survived by wife, JoAnn Cavuoto; mother in-law, Laura DiGiugno; daughters, Denise (Mark Hyde) Cavuoto, Janeen (Chris) Henry Wendy (John) Carpenter; grandchildren, Nathan Henry, Marissa Henry, Carly Carpenter, Nick Carpenter, AnaLisa Hyde David Hyde; several cousins, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews nieces.
David's visitation will be Monday 2-4 7-9 pm at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between 390 Long Pond Rd). His funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday 9:30 am at St. Theodore's Church, 168 Spencerport Rd. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 in David's memory.
As a child, David spent his time playing baseball and enjoyed playing with model trains. During his teen years, he became interested in fishing and owned a 57 Chevy. David also liked hanging out with friends and was a graduate from Madison High School in Rochester, NY. He served in the Vietnam War and after he returned from Vietnam, he worked for Rochester Telephone. Later on, he worked at Syrbon and he eventually retired after working many years at Kodak.
David met his wife, JoAnn in high school. It was love at first sight and they became high school sweethearts. David JoAnn dated for 9 years before they were married on November 8, 1966. David instilled the value of education with his children and grandchildren. His friends were very important to him and his grandchildren were the light of his life. David was an animal lover, he liked to fish and play chess. He enjoyed playing the Wii video gaming system with his grandchildren and "always won when playing the Nap Game." David liked to take trips with his wife and liked to go shopping. He loved computers and working on projects around his home.
David was a Star Trek fan, he also enjoyed watching history movies and the musical sounds of the 70's. David is described to be a loyal, faithful and loving family man. He embraced technology and was always in search of knowledge. David was an intelligent, detailed orientated person. He was a man of conviction, as well as independent, strong willed and nostalgic. David was very proud of his children and adored his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by loved ones and friends.
