Mulee, David M. Rochester: July 31, 2017 at age 74 after a brief illness. David is predeceased by his parents Guido and Blanche Mulee. He is survived by his siblings, Sharon (Robert) Lockemeyer, Guy (Georgia) Mulee, and Theresa Mulee; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great-nephew, cousins friends. David was a lifelong train enthusiast and model railroader. David's visitation will be Thursday, August 3rd, 4-7 PM at the Funeral Home, 1411 Vintage Lane (Between 390 Long Pond Rd.). His Funeral Service will be celebrated Friday, August 4th, 10:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Holley NY will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Strong Memorial Hospital Social Work, C/O University of Rochester Gift Donor Records, 300 East River Road, P.O. Box 270032, Rochester, NY 14627 in David's memory. Dave was born on October 30th, 1942 to Guido and Blanche Mulee in Rochester, NY. He grew up in the 19th Ward with his siblings, Sharon, Guy and Terry. Dave attended and graduated from St. Monica School, class of 1956 and West High School, class of 1960. As an adult, Dave owned and operated Dave's Smoke and Sweet Shop, a concession stand inside the cafeteria at Pfaudler's on West Ave. He also worked in various warehousing jobs, at the Post Office, and at other concessions through the programs at the Association for the Blind and NYS Vocational Services. He also repaired, sold and traded model trains. Dave loved animals and had a long list of those that came into his care. One of his favorites was a stray "Morris-like" cat that found his way to our campsite known as "Cliffside." He was aptly named Cliff. Dave's most recent furry friend was his constant companion, Sugar. She was adopted from a shelter and took to him immediately. They were the best of friends. Sugar will miss him, but she'll also adapt to her new owner. She is a very contented cat who just wants a human to love. Dave's life revolved around trains. He loved to watch or ride full sized trains and he was an avid collector of model trains. He could take them apart and put them back together, usually with no leftover parts. Dave enjoyed watching baseball; going to Red Wings games and cheering on the Mets (the favorite team of his mother and sister, Terry). He was previously involved in many train clubs and model railroading organizations. Dave took what each day brought to him. He handled many health challenges throughout his life and was a cancer survivor for more than 40 years. He was very willing to help people out whenever he could. He was a loyal friend with a good sense of humor. Dave will be dearly missed and he will always be lovingly remembered by many friends and family.
