David J. Pilaroscia ROCHESTER - Sudden­ly, August 24, 2019. David is predeceased by his par­ents, Rocco J. Loretta F. Pilaroscia. He is survived by his loving siblings, Rocky (Sue) Pilaroscia Nancy (Fred) Pilaros­cia-Sigmund; nephews niece, Tom Parrone, Mi­chelle (Scott) Homer Joe (Kirsten) Pilaroscia; great-nephews great-nieces, Gavin Homer, Roc­co Homer, Loretta Homer, Leah Homer, Caroline Pilaroscia, Joseph Pilaroscia, Jr.; many cousins dear friends. David's life story will be shared during his vis­itation, Tuesday, September 3rd, 2-4 6-8 PM. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated, Wednesday, September 4th, 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Cathe­dral, 296 Flower City Park, immediately followed by his burial in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Aquinas In­stitute, 1127 Dewey Ave., Rochester, NY 14613 in his memory. David went to Sacred Heart Cathedral Grade School. He was that kid in kindergarten on a cold winter day building snowmen. As a kid he played youth football for the 10th Ward. He was an Aquinas graduate who went on to attend Niagara University. In high school he played football and boxed. In 1973 he boxed against his cousin Dominick Arioli. He became part of the Niagara University Floor Hockey team of which his teammates became lifelong friends. After working to assist with family-owned business, Pilaroscia Parking, David's career took him many places including: Eastman Kodak, Heidelberg Digital, Care Stream and Rochester City School District. Family was important to David. You'd often see him delivering donuts to his family and enjoying the holidays with them. He once decided to reconnect with his family in Italy and took a trip overseas. David was an avid sports fan. As a big Red Wings Amerks fan, he never ever believed in leaving a game early. He also loved to play and watch baseball. Because of this, he was dedicated to a boys' trip to a major league baseball game on an annual basis. Other favorite sports teams were: Chicago Blackhawks (and had a cat named "Chicago" by the way), Philadelphia Eagles and Baltimore Orioles. On top of all that he loved NASCAR and Kevin Harvick, and attended races in Saratoga. His musical side loved The Who and the Jazz Festival. David had a big personality who was known for saying "Cannoli" whenever his picture was taken! Another typical line you'd hear from him; "Be an army man." He had an amazing gift for listening and making people feel special. He was a great listener, always helpful and supportive.
