Dennis Michael Joy Jr., 45, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, leaving behind family, friends, and colleagues who will forever cherish his memory.

Born on August 13, 1980, Dennis lived a life dedicated to service, integrity, and compassion. A proud Marine veteran, he served 11 years of active duty, including two tours of duty in Afghanistan and the Middle East. During the last years of his military career, he was stationed in San Diego as a Drill Sergeant, shaping and guiding the next generation of Marines with discipline and care.

Beyond his military service, Dennis gave back to his community as a volunteer firefighter and a trained EMT. Most recently, he served as an AirComm Dispatcher at the Rochester Airport, where his steady voice, professionalism, and light-hearted humor made him a trusted presence and a friend to many.

Dennis was a man of honor and heart-always respectful, always ready to lend a hand, and always quick to share a laugh or lighten a difficult moment. His greatest passions were his country, his time in the Marines, and the unwavering companionship of his beloved service dog, Paulie. Above all, Dennis was deeply devoted to his family, especially his mother and late father, whom he held close in both love and loyalty.

He is predeceased by his father, Dennis Sr., and his brother, Frank. Dennis is survived by his loving mother, Mary Joy; his sisters, Michelle (Sean) and Christine (Jim); his cherished nephews and nieces; his great-niece; his best friends, Brian, Colin, Danny, and Jeremy; as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Dennis will be remembered for his courage, his kindness, his humor, and his steadfast dedication to others. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the sacrifices he made.

Dennis’s life story will be shared during calling hours on Wednesday, August 27 from 4- 7 pm, at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane, 14626. His funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 28, at 11:00 am at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, All Saints Mausoleum, 2461 Lake Avenue, 14612.
