Died peacefully surrounded by her family on February 15, 2014 at age 88. Predeceased by son, Edmund Contestabile; husband, Frank (Archie) Contestabile; father, Dewey Mayhew; mother Leona Doss; step-father, Nelson Ferguson; sister, Joan Ferguson. Dorothy is survived by her devoted husband, Donald Brunette; heartbroken children, Lisa (John Chinnici) Contestabile, Domenic (Carol) Contestabile; grandchildren, Christina (Tim Royce) Contestabile, Nicholas (Alyssa Walter) Contestabile, Kristen (Jason Walik) Mayback, William (Cindy Reed) Mayback; great-grandchildren, Dylan Reed Elizabeth Mayeck; brother, Robert (Bonnie) Ferguson; sisters-in-law, Shirley Billings Betty Clark; brother-in-law, Frank Brunette Jr; many cousins, nieces, nephews friends. Dorothy was born in Lynchburg, VA and moved to Rochester in 1945. She worked many years as a Registered Nurse and 25 years at Xerox. She was an active member of Holy Name of Jesus Church and a member of the choir. She lived a life of loving and generous service to others. Special thanks for the loving care received at the Baird Nursing Home. Visitation is 2-4 7-9 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (between 390 Long Pond Rd). Dorothy's funeral mass will be celebrated 9:30 AM on Thursday at Holy Name of Jesus Church, St. Martin's Way, Rochester. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
