Name: Dorothy (Derleth) Geyssens Life Dates: 3/21/1920 - 12/31/2006 City Of Birth: Rochester, NY Pre-deceased by Dorothy was predeceased by her loving husband and friend of 62 years Albert J. "Al" Geyssens. Survived by She is survived by her son Randy (Amy) Geyssens; granddaughters Zoe Geyssens Chelsea Geyssens; nephew Richard (Kay) Kurz family; several kissing cousins. History Dorothy had many friendships throughout her life. She especially enjoyed being a loving mother and supportive and caring grandmother. Dorothy always treated her daughter-in-law Amy like a daughter. Family was the most important thing in Dorothy`s life. She enjoyed all family get togethers especially Christmas 4th of July. Dorothy was out spoken hard working. She enjoyed traveling, Domino`s, hunting, fishing, the outdoors, nature and bird watching. Donations In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Holy Name of Jesus Church, St. Martins Way, Rochester, NY 14616 in Dorothy's memory. Services BARTOLOMEO PEROTTO Funeral Home, Inc., 1411 Vintage Lane (Between 390 Long Pond Rd.) where Dorothy's visitation will be Wednesday 2-4 7-9 PM. Dorothy's Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at Holy Name of Jesus Church at 9:30 AM. Dorothy's interment will follow in Falls Cemetery. Additional Information Dorothy was co-founder with her husband Al of Geyssens Nursery. Dorothy was innovative and she was defenitely a driving force in the success of the nursery. She was one of the first "working moms" in the landscaping nursery fields. Dorothy was always very active in the community. She volunteered at Holy Name of Jesus Church, clothing drives to help the poor, and Martha`s Ministry.
