Douglas Ronald Marvin, age 78, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2025, in his hometown of Rochester, NY. Born on October 8, 1946, Doug lived a life marked by hard work, deep compassion, and unwavering generosity. He had become known as somewhat of a legend during years at Charlotte Appliances.

Doug was the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back or his last dime to help someone in need, never expecting anything in return. He was known for his selflessness and the deep love he had for his family.

He is survived by his three daughters, Andrea Mills, Irene Marvin, and Patty Marvin; best friend and mother of his three girls, Patricia Follett; grandchildren: James (Kayla) Marvin, Amanda Russo, Sammy (Krystal) Mills, Kyle Olek, Alexandrea Mills, Antonio Reyes, Nissa Reyes, and Angela Scioria. Doug was also blessed with many great-grandchildren who brought him endless pride and joy. He’s remembered by his special sister to him, Heather Marvin, as well as sisters Darlene, Malinda, Brenda, Tammy and Maryjo; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Vinny and Linda Costanzo.

Doug was predeceased in death by his parents, Leonard and Adeline Marvin; his son-in-law, Sam “Slam” Mills; his grandson, Miguel Reyes; one brother and five sisters.

Doug will be remembered as a selfless soul, a devoted family man, and someone who left a lasting impression on the hearts of those who knew him.

Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, July 28th from 4PM – 7PM at Bartolomeo & Perotto Funeral Home, 1411 Vintage Lane. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, July 29th at 10AM at Northridge Church, 2052 Saint Paul Street, Rochester 14621, followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 2461 Lake Ave, Rochester 14612.
