Dr. Aly Nahas ROCHESTER - August 1, 2020. Aly is survived by his wife, Leila Nahas; children, Andy, Oula, Neda, Ramy, Sherif Alycia; grandchildren, Terry, Kareem, Yasmin, Danielle, Nadia, Amanda, Zavier Max; many dear friends. Aly was a Professor of Pharmacology - University of Rochester, Co-Founder of the Islamic Center of Rochester, Chairman of the Commission on Christian-Muslim Relations, Interfaith Alliance of Rochester, President of the Arab American Society of Rochester, WXXI Community Advisory Board Public Speaker ("Islam 101") at churches and universities to enhance interfaith understanding. Aly's funeral prayer will be held in an outdoor ceremony, 1:30pm on Wednesday, August 5th at the Islamic Center of Rochester, 727 Westfall Road, Rochester NY 14620. His burial will follow in the Avon Cemetery.
