Edward Lee Panepento GREECE - October 22, 2019, at the age of 77. Ed is predeceased by his parents, Frank Jose­phine; brother, Charles. He is survived by his beloved wife, Loreta (Puodzi­unas) Panepento; four legged companion, An­gel; loving family, Long (Kim Dang) Steven, Edward, Eric Panepento; Nick (Andrea) Nolan Nguyen, Thomas Danny (Kim) Sofa, Stella Murray; cousins, Donald (Reyhan) Antinore; extended family and friends, especially in North Carolina. Edward was a proud Navy Marine Corps vet­eran whom served in Vietnam as a corpsman. He became a physicians assistant and being the first class to graduate from Duke University. Ed loved medicine all of his life. He was also a certified black belt and taught classes for many years - PKN was the class name. Ed sponsored over 50 Vietnamese refugees here in the city. The young men con­sidered him as their father figure and now their children refer to him as grandfather. He was very proud of this accomplishment. Ed's services were held privately.
