Edward J. Penrose Greece: June 27, 2023. Ed is predeceased by his wife, Rose V. Penrose; parents, Charles & Mary Penrose; brothers & sisters, Craig, Mary, Charles, Annette, Marvie & Doris. He is survived by his nieces & nephews, Bill (Jane) Gruschow, Rosemary (James) Lewis, Kenneth (Martha) Villone, Susan (James) Wagner & Barbara Pratt; many great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews & dear friends. Ed was a proud Korean War Combat Veteran in the Army, reaching the rank of Sergeant, and served in many veterans organizations. These would include the Monroe County American Legion Honor Guard where he was the Commander in 1991 & 1992, American Legion Doud Post #98, Patchen-briggs Post # 307 and the Outpost Harry Survivors Association. He was honored in December by American Legion for his 60 years of continuous membership. He retired from Gleason Works and enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf in his retirement. Ed's life story will be shared during visitation from 2:00-4:00 pm on Wednesday, July 5th at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Church, 4492 Lake Ave., on Thursday, July 6th at 10:30 am. Entombment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations may be sent to the Humane Society at Lollypop Farm, 99 Victor Rd, Fairport, NY 14450 or the School of the Holy Childhood, 100 Groton Pkwy, Rochester, NY 14623 in Ed's name.
