Edward R. "Eddie" VanPutte Rochester: June 6, 2020. He is predeceased by parents, Dorothy Peter; brother, Donald; sister, Shirley Ledesome. Eddie is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Diane (Mali) VanPutte; children, Patrick (Pamela) VanPutte, Peter VanPutte Deborah Abbazia; grandchildren, Mauriana, Patrick, PJ, Adriana, Nicholas Abbazia Ciana Abbazia. Eddie was a veteran of the US Navy and retired from the Roofers Local #22. His family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at the Strong Memorial Palliative Care Unit for their compassionate care. He grew up in Williamson with his siblings, Donald Shirley where he attended Williamson High School. Eddie and his dear friend, Roger Cooney worked on a farm during their teenage years. In 1956, Eddie joined the US NAVY, where he would spend his time on the USS Hailey as a Machine Mechanic until 1959. After his service he began roofing, and after 40 years he retired from the Roofers local #22. Eddie Diane have been married for 57 years. They had 3 children of their own and now have 6 grandchildren. They loved to spend time with their whole family at their cottage on Glen Lake. He was an avid fisherman and looked forward to dog sitting every single day for Star Texa. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
