Ella was born to her parents Dominic Aquilina DiFazio. She grew up in the 19th ward. She attended and graduated from Madison High School in 1939.
One day Ella innocently went to the movie theater, soon after she sat down John Romano sat next to her and opened with, what beautiful eyes she had. Ella, being quick witted immediately responded with, but it's dark in here how can you see my eyes? Their love affair began, they were married in St. Lucy's Church and went on to have three children of their own, Frank, Jacqueline John.
Ella loved watching sports on TV. It didn't matter what the sport was. She enjoyed them all. When asked who was winning, she would respond, "I don't know, I just like to watch them run around."
She had her phone book always at the ready. She regularly picked up the phone and reached out to those she loved. Her classic start to the conversation was "what's up?" Her daily phone calls were brief, and were looked forwarded to and will ultimately be missed by those who loved her.
In here free time, Ella enjoyed crocheting, making her often requested Lemon Cookies and playing cards, especially, Gin Rummy.
She was: easy going, non-judgemental, loving, soft spoken, always saw the good in others, had a sense of humor, resilient, independent and never complained.
Most of all for Ella was her love of family. For some people getting together at certain times was not important. Not for Ella! She looked forward to all get togethers.
Her loving demeanor and thoughtfulness will be loved by all who knew and loved her.
