Additional Information
Elmer was a decorated (Purple Heart and Bronze Star) WWII Veteran, wounded during the Normandy landing. He took enormous pride in the fact that his parents, having immigrated from Italy, owned and operated the Edgerton Bar and Grill on Saratoga Ave. in Rochester. He delighted in the appellation "Irish O'Nacca", bestowed upon him by a Rochester sportswriter in the 1930's when he was a lineman for the Aquinas "Little Irish." Above all, Elmer loved his children and grandchildren. He was a constant, unfailingly quiet, presence at football games, gymnastics meets, little league games and graduations.
