Celebrating the Life of Elsie May (Keating) Williams

Passed away on March 19, 2026.

She is predeceased by her parents, Clifford and Alma Keating, and her brothers Roy, Locksley, and Valentine Keating. Elsie is survived by her children: Jacqueline (Richard White) Skyers, Antonio (Glyta) Williams, Neil (Jackie Judy) Williams, Richard Williams, Travis Williams, Hortensie (Martin English) English, Christopher Williams, and Christina (Kem Alily) Williams; her grandchildren, Brittani Skyers-White, Amari Reeves, Haruna Williams, and Elysia Williams; and her siblings Moreen Pitter, Dorothy (Vernie) Lee, Beverly Palmer, Shayle (Hillary) Keating, Lorna Strauss, and Annette Keating, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Elsie May Williams was born in Swift River, Jamaica in 1945, where she was raised in a close-knit family alongside her siblings-brothers Locksley, Roy, Shayle, and Valentine, and sisters Moreen, Dorothy, Lorna, Beverly, and Annette. Growing up in a large, loving household helped shape her deep sense of care, resilience, and devotion to family.

She attended Mount Hermon Primary School in Blackhill, Jamaica, where she began building the foundation for a life rooted in hard work, creativity, and generosity. From an early age, Elsie found joy in sewing and crochet, creating beautiful handmade pieces that she shared with others. She loved gardening, cooking, and baking-nurturing both plants and people with equal warmth. In her quiet moments, she enjoyed watching her favorite soap operas, a simple pleasure that brought her comfort and relaxation.

Elsie was a devoted and loving mother to her eight children: Jacqueline, Antonio, Neil, Richard, Travis, Hortensie (also known as Andrea), Christopher, and Christina. Married to and later divorced from Lloyd after 46 years, her commitment to her children never wavered. Her proudest accomplishment was raising her family, each child carrying forward her strength, love, and determination.

She had a passion for travel and cherished her experiences visiting Canada, Jamaica, the United Kingdom, Mexico, and the United States-especially the West Coast and Texas. These journeys brought her joy and allowed her to connect with family, culture, and new surroundings. Yet no matter where she went, her heart always belonged to Jamaica. She carried her heritage with pride, celebrating life through vibrant cooking, language, and dancing.

Above all, Elsie adored her grandchildren – Brittani, Amari, Haruna, and Elysia – who brought immense pride and happiness into her life. She treasured every moment with them, passing on her warmth, wisdom, and love to the next generation.

Elsie May Williams will forever be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend-a woman whose life was defined by love, perseverance, and a deep, enduring kindness. Her heart knew no limits, and her warmth left a lasting impact on everyone she met. She truly was a mother to all.
